Spock's World Tour - Reading, PA

Playtrek Spock hit Reading during one of the worst winters in a long time but it did not slow him down one bit.
He made a snowman and a snow angel and seemed to enjoy it (even though Vulcaons enjoy the heat much more than the cold...
I must have a bit of green blood in me somewhere too.)

I have no idea what my cat thought of Spock's snowman...but she did not like what she saw as these pictures will show you.

She was a bit startled by the 9" inch high, pointy eared little white man on the porch.

She had to turn around ans take another look...see how her tail was starting to bush up?

Once the snow started to thall Spock and I had a chance to get out and see a bit of the loacl culture. First stop was Reading's Pagoda.

We got to take in a nice view of the city from this far up.

After that we head to the Planetarium. To see the stars.

The show was Light Years from Andromeda which was narrated by Michael Dorn.

A beam of light leaves the Andromeda Galaxy and travels across the void of intergalactic space.
On a planet located in a nearby galaxy, intelligent life evolves. As the light speeds across the light years,
over the course of centuries, the primitives on the planet from cultures and civilizations begin to wonder
about the universe surrounding them. Their awareness of the night sky increases as the
beam of light draws nearer to their planet. When the light reaches the Earth, some of the dependents
of the early hunters have just escaped the bonds of their world's gravity, and visited the moon.
In modern times, scientific study of space helps the planet's current inhabitants to understand
the properties of light, and the ways that understanding shapes our further knowledge of the universe.

(near the end of the show they told us that maybe some day we will be able to travel to other galaxies
as an Enterprise-D flies across the screen)

From here Spock decided he wanted to check out the technologically advanced AMISH he was hearing so much about
so we headed out to Lancaster County for a nice sunny drive last week end.

(Never made it to our first stop which was going to be Virginville, which is just before you get to Kutzown and in the opposite
direction we were heading). So the first stop on our tour of the Dutch Country was Blue Ball,
then on to Bird-In-Hand, Intercourse and Paradise before heading back home.

First stop was Blue Ball Lanes to roll some balls around but Spock was scared off by the birds...so many birds.

(we used to frequent this establishment about once a month when I was a kid).

As they say....
VA might be for lovers.
But PA has Intercourse.

The lack of technology left his speechless, but he loved the mode of transportaion.

After Intercourse we headed for Paradise. And did a bit of souvenir shopping.

Tired we though we would stop for some rest (in Peace) but as you can see there were no vacancies).

Well Spock's off on to another great journey....where is he headed?
